Hi there! I’m Nykol, the founder and chief editor of Montage Magic. I’m a Chicago-based theatre artist who spent 20+ years working in live entertainment before Covid shut down the industry. Working primarily as a stage and production manager, I produced shows for Blue Man Group, Norwegian Cruise Lines, Rail Events Productions, and countless regional theatres, festivals, and operas. My work took me across country and around the globe, creating shows on boats, trains, beaches, parks, amphitheaters, and arenas. An educator as well as practitioner, I’ve held faculty posts at three universities, and continue to teach as an adjunct.

Making montages has been a hobby for many years, primarily for family events and occasions. Taking advantage of the time during quarantine, I pursued that passion, took classes in Adobe Suite, and started working as a professional editor. Social media advertisement, music videos, short documentaries, and art film have been my bread and butter, a grouping as eclectic as my theatre career has been.

Montage Magic combines my love of people, entertainment, and editing. I pride myself on being first and foremost a storyteller, able to make any story engaging, heartfelt, and fun. And it brings me so much joy to be a part of making your special event unforgettable.
